What We do

We provide support and advice for voluntary sector groups.  These can be anything from small local groups to registered and unregistered charities, and social enterprises.  Collectively these are called Voluntary, Community, and Social Enterprise (VCSE) organisations.  We aim to be a one-stop-shop for organisations at any stage in their development, and can provide support around topics like:

  • Finding funding
  • Answering governance queries
  • Advice on how to start up
  • Support to get the right structure
  • Policy advice

And much more!  If it is to do with VCSE organisations, we can help or signpost you to the best place to get help.

One to One Support

Got a question, or come across an issue, and need advice? We can provide one-to-one support by email, phone, or face-to-face (online or in person depending on the situation).  Our Development Team have a wealth of knowledge and experience with voluntary sector organisations and issues that affect them. To get in touch with the Team, email office@communityactionnorfolk.org.uk

Updates for Norwich

Anglian Water is asking us all to use less water – and for very good reasons. All of us, as consumers, can play our part.

Norwich is the focus of a campaign to encourage consumers to use less water, to help protect the environment as well as save on water bills.

Connecting Bowthorpe is a collective of community volunteers from several organisations within Bowthorpe, all with extensive experience of community work and a real vision for the area, and with a long-term commitment to the residents of Bowthorpe.

The Feed is a not-for-profit social enterprise providing catering services, with a very clear mission to prevent poverty, hunger and homelessness in Norwich.

As leaders and members of the city’s resident, community, faith and voluntary groups we’re very aware of the trusted place you hold for Norwich residents and we’d like you ask for your help in ensuring that, as cases here increase, people have access to the right information and support to keep them safe.

The Matthew Project would shut their offices on the 18th March, switching immediately to offer services remotely, through the phone, online groups, and doing door-step visits when a welfare concern was raised as the Police were unable to do this due to capacity limitations.

CAN is helping promote Anglian Water’s ‘Love Every Drop’ campaign, aimed at encouraging us to cut back on our use of water in our homes.

Volunteers have been flocking to help vulnerable residents in the in Thorpe Hamlet and Thorpe St Andrew areas of Norwich.

Norwich City Council and a variety of Norwich-based organisation have designed LUMi, a platform to help people become more involved in community life.

This presentation was given by Community Development Officer, Lucinda Leonard, at our AGM (Annual General Meeting) on Weds 12th July.
