Under the new energy price cap, average energy bills will be £1,717. That’s good, right? Except that standing charges will increase by 10%. And, despite lower prices, typical bills will still be almost 30% higher than in winter 2021-22.
An average can be misleading, because energy bills depend on a range of factors, such as how many people are in the household, how old the building is, and what tariff the bill-payer is on. In an ever-changing energy market, it’s important for consumers (that’s all of us) to understand how to save on energy costs.
We’re delivering free advice and awareness sessions for consumers, where you can find out how to be more energy efficient by making small changes in the home, and where you can get additional support. Sessions can be followed by one-to-one support to give individual advice.
The sessions are also helpful if you work with vulnerable people who might be worried about their energy bills
Our next online session will be on Tuesday 19th November 2.00pm-3.00pm.
Email steve.nunn@communityactionnorfolk.org.uk or call 01362 545024 to book. And if your group or organisation would like an in-person or on-line session for your service users, staff or volunteers, please contact Steve, as above.
