Join our Team! Community Builder: Children, Young People, and Families - Deadline: 31st July

We are looking for a Community Builder to join our team. 

This project is part of the government funded Pride in Place programme and invests in neighbourhood-based approaches that strengthen community connections, amplify resident voice, build local leadership and support collaboration between residents, community organisations and public services.  This new team will sit within the oversight of Together Norfolk*, facilitating these local communities to foster asset-based community development.   

The Community Builder: Children, Young People & Families (CYF) will work to asset -based community Development principles (training will be provided) to facilitate the residents of North Lynn, South Lynn, Gaywood and Fairstead & King’s Reach, specifically children, young people and families, to come together and create a strong community.  The Community Builder: CYF will spend significant time in community settings getting to know local children, young people, families, volunteers and organisations.  They will help connect people, encourage collaboration, strengthen participation and support local ideas to grow sustainably over time.   

The role will work closely alongside neighbourhood Community Builders, Community Forums and VCSE Hubs; supporting identified local volunteers to build long-term sustainability and connection across community-led CYF groups and initiatives.  This is not a direct delivery, referral or case-holding role. Its purpose is to strengthen the social infrastructure around children and families by supporting community relationships, participation, volunteering and collaboration.

Access to your own transport is essential, as is good knowledge of the local community. 

This is one of four opportunities.  The other roles are:

• Community Builder: Gaywood, and Fairstead & King's Reach.
• Community Builder: North and South Lynn.
• Engagement Support Officer. 

*Although Together Norfolk is a faith-based organisation, the project is secular, and will be fully inclusive.  

• Fulltime: 37 hours per week 
• Location: King’s Lynn (specifically North and South Lynn) 
• Salary: £27,017 per annum. 
• Contract: until 31st August 2030.
