Meet the Management Team - Rik Martin, Chief Executive Officer

A chance for you to meet our Management Team, and put faces to names.

Meet Rik,

1. Rik is our Chief Executive Officer and has worked for us the last twelve years.  The list of things he does are simply too long to list­!       

2. Rik has more than 35 years’ experience of project management in Norfolk, working with vulnerable people of all ages.  Rik was responsible for researching and coordinating aspirations work in Norfolk for more than five years and has spoken at regional and national conferences on this and a wide range of other subjects.  Prior to this he managed two community Technology Centres, taught literacy and numeracy, management, photography, IT and delivered training for trainers with Adult Education.  As a self-employed consultant he won a national training award for developing basic skills support in Industry, has written two City & Guild courses.

3. Rik's currently work covers a wide range of things but in this next  week or two he will be:

• Delivering training on fuel poverty to frontline staff in Great Yarmouth and Norwich.
• Working with the North and South CCG (Clinical Commissioning Group) on the supported care programme.
• Developing bids to tackle digital inclusion, fuel poverty, active communities, community meet ups and loneliness support.
• Providing funding and networking advice to groups in Wells, Great Yarmouth and Norwich.
• Supporting the Sport for Change Programme in Lakenham and Tuckswood.

Some fun facts about Rik:

• When he has spare time he is a keen photographer and ‘passionately curious’ about everything!
• He is a published author of children’s poetry.
• He is a big film fan, has more nerdy sci-fi stuff than the whole of the Big Bang Theory film set,  and has a wicked sense of humour.
• oh and he loves the odd fancy dress party…
