As we look ahead to Village Halls Week 2026 (16–22 March 2026), now is the perfect time to celebrate the vital role village halls and community buildings play in rural life. These local hubs are the heart of our communities – welcoming people of all ages, hosting activities that promote health and wellbeing, and helping to reduce isolation while strengthening local connections.
Village Halls Week is an annual campaign led by Action with Communities in Rural England (ACRE). The focus for 2026 is on how community venues support physical, mental and social wellbeing, whether through fitness classes, peer support groups, health sessions, social clubs or simply providing a welcoming space for people to meet.
If you manage or support a village hall or community building, make sure you’re part of the celebrations:
Register your hall for Village Halls Week and sign up to receive updates, campaign materials and free goodies like bunting and badges (while stocks last).
Registering is quick and means your hall will be counted among those shining a spotlight on the difference you make in your community.
To help you plan your activities and promote your involvement, ACRE has put together a range of downloadable resources:

These tools are designed to help you raise awareness locally, encourage participation, and showcase the great work your hall does throughout the year.
Village halls are so much more than bricks and mortar. They’re spaces that bring people together, support healthier lifestyles, and make everyday life richer and more inclusive. Whether you’re planning coffee mornings, wellbeing workshops, art classes, or community fun days, Village Halls Week is your chance to shine a spotlight on your work and engage your community in something positive and joyful.
Let’s make Village Halls Week 2026 the biggest and most impactful yet!
