Rural Communities Invited to Share Views on Resilience and Off-Grid Heating

The Rural Services Network (RSN), as Secretariat for the All-Party Parliamentary Group (APPG) for Rural Services, is calling for evidence to help better understand the challenges affecting the resilience of rural communities, particularly those that rely on off-grid heating.

The call for evidence seeks information from residents, community organisations, businesses and other stakeholders about the issues faced by households that are not connected to the mains gas network. This includes those who rely on heating oil, LPG and other alternative fuels to heat their homes.

The evidence gathered will help the APPG for Rural Services build a clearer picture of the challenges facing rural communities and inform discussions with policymakers about how rural areas can be better supported.

For many rural households, access to affordable and reliable heating remains an important issue, with fuel prices often subject to significant fluctuations and limited alternatives available in some areas.

Community Action Norfolk encourages individuals and organisations across Norfolk to contribute their experiences and ensure that the voices of rural communities are represented in the evidence submitted to the APPG for Rural Services.
