Norfolk County Council are exploring the accessibility and ongoing importance of cash across the county and how people really feel about using it today. This work is particularly focused on financial inclusion, especially for those in vulnerable circumstances.

To help inform a new report, NCC’s Growth and Investment team are running three short surveys to gather local views and insights. These surveys aim to understand how people, businesses, and VCSE (voluntary, community and social enterprise) organisations experience and rely on cash.

We know that for many in our communities, especially older people, low-income households, and those living in rural areas, cash is still a vital part of everyday life. That’s why it’s so important to hear from as many voices as possible.

1. People:
Tell us how you use cash – and why it still matters to you here.
We’re exploring how accessible cash is in Norfolk and its ongoing importance in daily life.

2. Organisations that support people:
Share your insight on how access to cash affects the people you support here.
Help us understand the role of cash in the lives of Norfolk’s residents, particularly the most vulnerable.

3. Businesses:
Does your business still rely on cash?
We want to hear how cash impacts your operations and your customers here.

Surveys are open until 12 September 2025.
