Established to support the Voluntary, Community and Social Enterprise (VCSE) sector in West Norfolk, the West Norfolk VCSE Hub has become a valuable forum for collaboration between organisations and the sharing of best practices.  The West Norfolk VCSE Hub aims to facilitate the following:

  • Understanding and discussion of key issues for VCSE organisations and the sector as a whole - for example, aspects for CAN to take forward and represent, or to highlight issues being faced.
  • Sharing of information and issues to support better partnership working with non-VCSE partners.
  • Exploring of opportunities to work together.
  • Sharing of good practice and learning, problem solving and peer support.
  • Participant updates or discussions about new services or projects.

Hub sessions are held every six weeks with each one having a different focus topic.  Some of the themes covered in 2023 included:

  • What digital inclusion support is available for VCSEs and individuals in West Norfolk?
  • How can we create spaces that bring VCSE’s, communities and individuals together?
  • More Than History: VCSE Heritage Activity in West Norfolk
  • Taking a creative approach to support in West Norfolk

In December 2023, we created a survey that went out to all of our West Norfolk VCSE Hub colleagues seeking their feedback and insights on the Hub.  We were inundated with an overwhelming amount of positivity, reflecting the impact of the Hub, and we are excited to share some of these comments:

“I have found it an excellent resource to tap into. There is so much really good work happening across West Norfolk that I wasn't aware of.”

“Being able to connect with the Hub electronically is very helpful because it means that I can connect with other organisations at a distance.”

“An open and fair mechanism through which VS colleagues, including myself, have an opportunity to extend our influence, and grow strong working connections with the wider sector. This Hub joins the links for all of us when we do not have the time or resources to devote to this as we would like. It is transparent, and effective for all concerned, including statutory bodies.”
