Fast broadband needed? There’s a 21st century answer right here in Norfolk

Around 92% of locations across Norfolk can receive fast broadband. That’s around 24 Mbps. And Better Broadband for Norfolk is working hard to increase that figure. You can check broadband availability in your area at  www.betterbroadbandnorfolk.co.uk.  That’s if you can get broadband in the first place of course…

VCSE Business Models and Managing the Money

Helping your community enterprise to survive and thrive

A community enterprise is a sustainable business that meets a need in a community by relying on people buying what you’re selling – whether that’s products or services. The things you sell, or the activities required of you, to create your products and services, or both, will help you meet that need.

A Code for the Voluntary and Community Sector

Governance is high on the agenda. Voluntary, Community and Social Enterprise (VCSE) organisations driven by altruistic values and working for public benefit are increasingly expected to demonstrate how well they are governed.

Resource: Hiring out community premises – a ‘landlord’s checklist’

Many community venues generate income by hiring out their premises to a wide variety of other groups and organisations, for everything from regular club meetings to one-off social functions and arts events -  but it’s important to protect the organisation hiring out the premises and the individual or group ‘buying in’ the facility.

Community Development and Organisational Support

We know that being able to get help with accessing funding, strengthening your governance and developing new projects and initiatives is one of the priorities whenever we ask organisations about what they need from us.

Resource: Menu of Preventative Interventions
