Here at CAN we’re often asked to advise on the duties and responsibilities of being a trustee. People are often understandably confused about what being a trustee really involves and a good deal of our governance work entails resolving this for them.
There are around 10,000 village and community halls across England. They’re key elements in local communities, providing a space for social events, fitness sessions, education and a host of other benefits. Around 450 such venues can be found across Norfolk, and at CAN we’re out there helping many of them with advice on funding, governance, project management and trustee training.

The UK’s National Health Service is rated best in the world. However, given the importance of the services it provides, each time something goes wrong is a potential tragedy, It’s important that if things can be put right they are and, if not, that lessons are learned.
