CAN is an member of the national ACRE (Action with Communities in Rural England) network. ACRE is very active at national level in helping formulate government strategies for supporting community groups. Right now ACRE is working with other national charities to help Government get to grips with the impact of Covid-19 on rural people and community organisations throughout England.
Norfolk’s hundreds of village halls and community venues are often at the heart of local life and, at this difficult time, it’s more important than ever that their value is realised. The National Village and Community Hall Survey deadline has been extended to 30th April to allow everyone to participate.
It's estimated that, during the Coronavirus pandemic, UK households are spending an extra 25 per-cent on their electrcity usage and an additional 17 per-cent on gas. Now is a good time to seriously look at switching energy provider to get a better deal.
We would appreciate your help in completing two key surveys, one or both of which may be relevant to your work scenario:
One survey helps us assess how the county’s voluntary, community and social enetrprise groups and organsiations are coping. The other is aimed specifically at community buildings and village halls.
This information is designed for informal voluntary groups, to help them maintain the safety of the volunteers they are managing during the COVID-19 crisis, as well as those they are trying to help.
Village halls and community buildings are facing particular challenges as a result of the COVID-19 pandemic. We have compiled some helpful – and essential – information.
If you are (a) involved with a voluntary or community group or organisation (b) are thinking about volunteering or (c) wanting to start up a local help group in your community you'll find a wealth of good advice and guidance in our Norfolk VCSE Covid-19 update.
We are updating this guidance to support organisations during the Covid-19 pandemic. Please bear with us as it is work in progress . See our page on general Covid-19 Guidance
