Organised by Action with Communities in Rural England (ACRE) and now extended to include halls in Wales and Scotland, Village Halls Week shines a spotlight on how village halls are much more than venues – they’re lifelines for social connection, activity and support across rural communities.
Whether it’s through weekly exercise classes that keep people moving, coffee mornings that combat loneliness, health and wellbeing workshops, support groups or simply providing a welcoming space to meet friends and neighbours, village halls are at the heart of everyday life.
This year’s theme encourages halls to showcase the ways they contribute to wellbeing – for example by linking events to the NHS’s “Five Steps to Wellbeing”:
• Connect with others
• Be active
• Keep learning
• Give to others
• Take notice of the world around you
Register you village hall here.
Plan activities during the week that highlight your hall’s contribution to health, wellbeing and community life.
Share your stories, photos and successes on social media and with your local networks so we can celebrate together the great work you do.
From quiet mindfulness sessions to lively dance classes, from regular lunch clubs to one-off events, every activity tells a story about how your hall enriches local life. Let’s make Village Halls Week 2026 the biggest and most inspiring yet!
Have something to share? We’d love to hear from you! Send us your hall’s Village Halls Week stories and photos and let’s showcase the very best of community spirit and wellbeing across our rural halls.
