Trustees Week celebrates the contribution that trustees make towards the work of charities.

Charities have risen to the challenges of COVID-19 but this has not been an easy time to be a trustee. For many, the past two years have involved very difficult decisions about:

  • resourcing
  • where best to focus for impact
  • how to reorganise the way organisations work

Trustees Week offers the opportunity to reflect on this journey and look to the future. It's also a moment to take pause and thank those who volunteer their time to lead charities.  And this has all been happening alongside the further challenges of governing remotely and juggling personal lives.

Trustees are all the same, right?

‘Trustee’ is often seen as a generic word – but it’s not. Here at CAN we receive a steady stream of enquiries from trustees who may experience some uncertainty about their precise roles as trustees.
