As we move away from long summer days filled with sunshine to cosy nights in, it can be a time of worry for many. Sadly the reality is that for some, it is a choice between eating well or heating our homes, both of which are essential for our health and wellbeing.

The colder weather can exacerbate existing health problems and make us more vulnerable to respiratory winter illnesses, so knowing where to turn in your time of need can alleviate the worry and stress.

Norfolk and Waveney Integrated Care System have put together some useful information with hints and tips to keep you warm and well, as well as a series of links to vital services that can help you stay warm and well this Winter.

Norfolk’s libraries are taking part in the Warm Welcome campaign again this Winter. To find your nearest library click here.

The importance of activity and the positive impact it has on health; specifically our physical, mental and social wellbeing is widely recognised.

The word “activity” sounds very energetic, but it doesn’t have to be. Connecting with likeminded people can lift a person’s spirit and the positive impact on your mental health is immeasurable.

Social Isolation is a real issue for some and can massively impact your daily life. If you lack social contact and have few people to interact with regularly then there are organisations to help.

CANConnect will help you connect with people and activities in your community as well as provide a range of support to help you achieve your goals.

If you live in North Norfolk and are aged 66 and over and physical activity is what you are looking for then North Norfolk Healthy Ageing Programme have put together a programme of activities to help you stay fit and well.
