The third annual Norfolk Voluntary, Community and Social Enterprise conference is being held on Weds 5th July at The Space Conference Centre, Norwich.  Speakers confirmed so far include David Johnston from the Social Mobility Foundation and Karl Wilding, Director of Public Policy and Volunteering at NCVO.

There’ll be four workshops throughout the day:

  • Mergers and Collaboration - Community Action Norfolk’s Jon Clemo,  Rachel Champion from The Matthew Project, relating their experiences of partnership working and mergers.
  • Campaigning for Social Justice -Led by Mark Harrison from Equal Lives. Case studies will be supplied by Emma Kosmin from the Living Wage Foundation.
  • Shared Measurement Frameworks -Led by Janka Rodziewicz from Norfolk Community Advice Network and case studies from Max Griffiths at Norwich City Council. 
  • Social Impact Bonds - Led by Jayne Locke & Graham Philips from Norfolk County Council

Sector Leadership Group Election

The event will also feature the Norfolk VCSE (Voluntary, community and social enterprise) Sector Leadership Group (SLG) election.  During May 2017 we publicised the election and invited people to put themselves forward for nomination. Anyone could stand as a candidate but they must be nominated by a Norfolk-based VCSE organisation* in order to put their name forward.  Voting is open to all Norfolk-based VCSE organisations*.

This year’s candidates are:

  • Paul Martin (nominated by the Mathew Project)
  • Hilary Richards (nominated by The Benjamin Foundation)
  • Helen Chester (nominated by Home-Start Norfolk)

  • Online by clicking here.  (Deadline: 29th June)
  • Via post - please contact Community Action Norfolk for a voting form on 01362 698216. (Deadline 29th June)
  • At the Norfolk ‘Social Justice: are you ready for the challenge’ conference on the 5th of July 2017. 

There is one vote per Norfolk VCSE organisation. Please ensure you are the appropriately authorised individual within your origination before voting. In the event of multiple votes per organisation, the first vote cast only shall be counted.
*In this context ‘Norfolk-based’ means the organisation has its registered office in Norfolk or delivers the majority of its services in Norfolk. ‘VCSE organisation’ means any registered or unregistered charity, any community interest company, any Industrial and Provident Society or similar registered society fulfilling the ‘societies for the benefit of the community’ definition, and community associations that have a governing document containing a clear public benefit purpose operating on a non-profit basis.
