Heritage walks in Norfolk's Paston Country

Enjoy the scenic Norfolk countryside and uncover the remarkable Paston story

All walks are circular and take between 45mins to 2hrs. The countryside walks are way-marked.

Outside academic circles, the story of the Paston family is largely undiscovered by the general public. Yet their letters and landmarks are the living history of Norfolk. The aim of the National Heritage Lottery funded Paston Footprints project is to empower people to experience and connect with the Paston legacy.

We have created heritage walks and cycle rides to help people explore Norfolk's historic 'Paston Country'.  We invite everyone to help us tell the Paston story and bring it to more people by taking part in family activities and creative challenges.

Can you help us capture the spirit of Paston Country?

We’re inviting everybody who enjoys one of our walks - any age, professional or amateur - to upload their pictures to social media and tag #pastonfootprints. From August 2021 to February 2022, three lucky winners EVERY month will win from a range of amazing experiential prizes, courtesy of our local partners.

How to enter and the gallery of local prizes can be found here.
