All local NHS are required by NHS England to produce a Sustainability and Transformation Plan (STP) outlining how they working to ensure that they are able to provide safe, sustainable local services. (For background information about STPs please click here.). A report has been submitted to NHS England in June 2016 outlining how the work is progressing to develop an STP for Norfolk and Waveney and the summary of this, presented to the Health and Wellbeing Board, is available by clicking here. Below is a document called "In Good Health" which explains the need to transform services and the challenges they face.
The NHS, Norfolk County Council and partner organisations have begun a programme of engagement over the future of Health and Social Care services. They aim to support more people to live independently at home with high quality services. Key areas of work will be:
- Supporting people to keep themselves healthy and well
- Enabling people to live independently
- Reducing the pressure on hospitals
