Job Title: Part time Co-ordinator

  • Organisation: Dereham Cancer Care
  • Hours: 18 per week (to be agreed)
  • Location: Dereham
  • Salary: £14.50 per hour

Dereham Cancer Care offers social and emotional support to cancer patients, their friends and families from its centre in Dereham.  We would like to appoint a Co-ordinator to take the charity forward, working alongside our team of volunteers and reporting to the board of trustees.

We are looking for someone who will

  • Develop new programmes and activities, including some weekend/evening opening
  • Manage the charity’s “keep in touch” facility
  • Host people and events at the centre
  • Manage bookings for the charity’s holiday home
  • Oversee the day to day running of the centre
  • Further develop the volunteer programme
  • Build partnerships with other organisations
  • Develop links with GP surgeries, social prescribers etc 
  • Deliver our business plan
  • Report to the board of trustees

The successful candidate will

  • Be a networker
  • Ideally have worked with a not for profit organisation
  • Have an appreciation of the impact of cancer on patients and their loved ones
  • Have knowledge of local providers
  • Have experience of managing people, projects and budgets
  • Have experience of writing funding applications

The appointment is offered for an initial six month, fixed term contract at an hourly rate of £14.50.
