FUNDRAISER - ROLE DESCRIPTION

  • Role Description: The role requires the Fundraiser to identify suitable funding streams that will support the work of HOPE in meeting its objectives. As Fundraiser you will use your expertise and networks to complete funding submissions, monitoring and end of grant reports. This role underpins the work of the charity and is critical to supporting vulnerable people through the trauma of suicide loss.
  • Responsible to: the Service Manager
  • Salary: Voluntary
  • Hours: Flexible (10 – 15 hrs pr week)
  • Responsible for: sourcing income through submitting grant applications

Purpose of the role:

  • To work with the Service Manager of HOPE to provide a steady income stream through grant applications and funding sources.

Key responsibilities:

  • To actively pursue new/alternative sources of funding for the development of new and existing projects and services including: 
  • Writing and submitting funding applications to support the charities service provision.
  • Complete monitoring and end of funding reports.
  • Report to the board as requested on progress, challenges and barriers.
  • To ensure, with the Service Manager, that contracts and/or agreements for the provision of current services are properly negotiated, secured and monitored.
  • To work with the Service Manager and Board of Trustees in managing the preparation and submission of bids, funding applications and tenders.
  • To be responsible for maintaining his/her own personal and professional development in accordance with the role, and with the guidance and support of the Service Manager.
