Why consult?

There are lots of different approaches to community consultation and engagement. Genuine consultation and engagement is essential to ensure that a project or activity meets the needs of those it is designed to help.

Consultation and engagement is important to:

  • Inform the development of your project to make sure it will achieve its aims
  • Identify alternative approaches or ideas that you may not have thought of
  • Ensure your project is evidence-based
  • Provide the foundation for your strategy
  • Demonstrate to funders that it has the support of the community

How Community Action Norfolk can help you:

  • Use tools and techniques such as our Community Led Planning model for effective engagement
  • Provide technology such as e-clickers to support your consultation
  • Design questions and surveys to find out the information you need
  • Organise and run successful consultation and engagement events
  • Manage volunteers
  • Bring the skills and experience of our staff
