Meet Tonya,

Tonya on the beach with Seth

Tonya has a dual role as one of our Development Officer's and as a Community and Voluntary Sector Co-ordinator with the Supported Care Teams.

  • As part of the Supported Care teams in North and South Norfolk, Tonya works with the clinicians who support primarily older persons when they have been discharged from hospital with medical needs that need to be tended to, or referred via their GP to avoid hospital admittance.  The Supported Care team try to find solutions in the voluntary sector that may help support them be independent and promote their wellbeing. A very rewarding role when you can provide a solution that helps someone in the community.
  • Tonya has also been working with the Lakenham  & Tuckswood Energise project and put together an event in Summer for families to come along and enjoy, discover out and get involved in sporting activities. This project has been nominated for a Norfolk Sports Award along with one of the volunteers.  Find out more on the Lakenham & Tuckswood Energise Facebook page.
  • Recently Tonya has also been working to help carry out Community Impact Assessments to understand the possible impact of the proposed changes to children's centre services, and is currently working on a project for Macmillan to understand the services and support available for those affected by cancer in their local community.

Fun Facts

  • Tonya loves taking her dog out for walks and spoiling him. He is a big softie with sad brown eyes and is very mischievous, always stealing socks and hiding them in the house and garden!
  • Tonya enjoys a good movie night! Nothing better than a good movie especially scary, creepy ones - the scarier the better!!!!
