this event is an opportunity to explore with others in a safe space some of the issues we face when working with and serving our communities. The session is also an opportunity to share your successes in local communities, understand the pressures on your organisation and how we can support each other, and be supported. The results will inform and influence how the Council uses its future resource for engagement and support of the sector. The event will take place on 31 March from 10am-1pm at The Abbey Conference Centre, Unilever Bestfoods UK, Bracondale Road, Norwich, NR1 2DD

You are invited to a conversation hosted by Norfolk County Council and supported by several of the County’s larger VCSE infrastructure providers, Community Action Norfolk (CAN), Momentum and Voluntary Norfolk, to explore jointly our current engagement and capacity needs, and how we may work together to support each other to address these in the future.  The work has been commissioned by the Council’s Communities Committee at their 25 January 2017 meeting – you can read more here. The workshop is an opportunity to:

  • Understand current community capacity and resilience needs on all sides
  • Explore how the Norfolk’s preventative approach agenda can be supported by working together more effectively
  • Seek ways to engage more consistently across all levels of the sector to support the ‘one public service aim’, - to work more closely and make best use of available resources - as expressed in the Council’s ‘Moving Norfolk Forward’ strategy expressed in the County Council Plan 2016-19.
